Driver FAQ

Questions owner-operators ask before they commit.

Straight answers on dispatch, vehicle fit, settlements, authority, insurance, and lanes.

1

Do you force dispatch?

No. Loads are reviewed with the driver before commitment. If the lane, timing, rate, or freight details do not work, the load is not forced.

2

What vehicles are the best fit?

Cargo vans and sprinter-style vans are the primary fit, including Ford Transit, Ram Promaster, and Mercedes Sprinter equipment in professional operating condition.

3

How are payments handled?

BlackTrail supports weekly settlement workflow for qualified operators after required closeout documentation is complete.

4

Do I need my own authority and insurance?

Authority and insurance status are reviewed during onboarding. Share your current status in the form so dispatch can route you into the right setup conversation.

5

What kind of freight should I expect?

The main focus is expedited cargo van and sprinter van freight where timing, communication, and POD closeout matter.

6

What lanes are you focused on?

BlackTrail is Charlotte-based and reviews regional and OTR expedited opportunities based on driver location, availability, equipment fit, and customer need.
